What to Expect at the Animal Orphanage Nairobi
What I found most fascinating at the Nairobi Animal Orphanage cages or enclosures was how they were designed, allowing visitors to get an up-close view of the animals from a safe distance. A fun fact about these cages is that they have a description board which gives more information on the animal in the enclosure, ensuring that visitors can appreciate the orphanage’s conservation efforts.

The staff shared touching stories of how orphaned, abandoned, injured, or old animals were brought to the orphanage by rangers, given medical examinations and the necessary treatment, and then placed in a feeding and rehabilitation program based on the individual needs, giving them new hope and a future.
The highlight of the day was feeding the animals, which allowed me to interact with some of the wildlife, such as the warthogs and giraffes. It is not something I will forget in a hurry.

An amazing fact I learned while at the Animal Orphanage Nairobi was that you (individually or as a corporate) can sponsor an animal of your choice at the orphanage. The support is basically aimed at meeting the diverse needs of the animals brought into the facility. Among the needs that your support or sponsorship can help in catering for include food, medication, translocation, toys, cage construction and maintenance, and the general welfare of the animals!
