Leave Nairobi in the morning and drive south to Amboseli National Park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge or tented camp. After checking in and resting briefly, enjoy your first afternoon game drive in the park, famous for its large herds of elephants and views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Spot wildlife including zebras, wildebeest, lions, cheetahs, and various bird species against the dramatic backdrop of the mountain. Return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Start the day with an early morning game drive, when animals are most active and the sky is often clear for the best views of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Return to the lodge for breakfast, then relax or take an optional nature walk or cultural visit to a local Maasai village. After lunch, head back out for another game drive in search of more wildlife and birdlife around the park’s swampy areas, where hippos and elephants cool off. Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.
