Begin your self-drive journey from Nairobi to Lake Nakuru, a 2 to 2.5-hour drive (about 160 km) via the Naivasha route. After checking into your accommodation, you can take some time to relax and enjoy the surroundings. In the afternoon, head into Lake Nakuru National Park for a game drive. The park is known for its abundance of wildlife, including rhinos, buffaloes, giraffes, and the famous flamingos that often line the shores of Lake Nakuru. If you’re lucky, you may also spot lions and leopards. After your game drive, return to your lodge or campsite for dinner and enjoy a relaxing evening.
