Start your day early in Nairobi and hit the road around 6:30 or 7:00 AM for a smooth 3.5 to 4-hour drive to Nanyuki. Along the way, you’ll pass through lush highlands and enjoy stunning views of Mount Kenya in the distance. Once you arrive, make a quick stop at the Equator Marker for some fun photos and a brief demonstration showing the Coriolis effect. From there, head to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, one of Kenya’s best private wildlife reserves. You can self-drive through the park or opt to hire a local guide at the gate for a more informative experience. Highlights here include sightings of the Big Five, the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary, and the last two remaining northern white rhinos.
